Assessment
Pain is shoulder can be generated in the shoulder itself, the Thoracic spine, or the neck. These 3 segments work together and rely on each other. We need to assess mobility and strength as well as stability of the shoulder. Then we need to clear the neck and look at mobility of the T-spine, which is very often a prime issue.
If the patient does overhead lifting, make sure to assess their lifts as well. The bar path is often an indication where the main culprit may be.
